How we label AI ads
Last updated: 2026-10-10
Every ad from MadSlope is made with AI. Most of our ads show people who are made by AI and are not real ("synthetic performers"). This page tells you how we label these ads and what you must do.
1. The visible notice
- MadSlope burns a notice into the "for paid ads" file and into every ad that MadSlope places for you.
- The default text is: "Made with AI · MadSlope".
- Today the app uses the default text for every ad (section 5).
- The notice is on screen from the first frame to the last.
- The text is white bold type on a dark box (60% opacity), so it is readable on any background. The text height is 4.5% of the short side of the video (49 px at 1080 px).
2. Where the notice goes
- Default: top left of the area that Meta, TikTok and YouTube do not cover with their buttons, captions and progress bars, and away from the edges and corners of the frame.
- Vertical (9:16): 12% from the left, 16% from the top.
- Horizontal (16:9): 5% from the left, 18% from the top.
- You choose. On the ad page, under "Notice position", you can drag the notice to a different place inside the safe area, for example when it covers your ad's own headline. Small frames from across the ad show where the notice is at each moment.
- Safe area. The areas that the platforms can cover are gray, with the note "Hidden in feeds by TikTok, Instagram and YouTube buttons and captions". The notice must stay outside these areas.
- When you change the position, MadSlope makes the "for paid ads" file again. An ad that is already placed keeps its old file until you stop it and place it again.
3. Platform AI labels
When MadSlope places an ad, it also tells the platform that the ad is AI-generated, where the platform's API lets us:
| Platform | What MadSlope sets | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Meta (Facebook, Instagram) | "AI info" self-disclosure on the ad | On every Meta placement today |
| YouTube / Google Ads | "Altered or synthetic content" on the YouTube upload | On every Google Ads placement. MadSlope does not set the Google Ads AI-content attestation on the ad |
| TikTok | AI-generated content disclosure | Not available through our placement provider. The burned-in notice is the disclosure (TikTok's policy accepts a clear on-screen disclaimer) |
Each platform decides if and how it shows its own label. A platform label can be small or inside a menu. It does not replace the burned-in notice.
4. Metadata
MadSlope may add invisible marks or metadata (for example watermarks and provenance data) to the media that it makes, to identify it as AI-generated and as made by MadSlope. Platforms do not show such marks or metadata as labels, so the visible notice stays necessary.
5. The wording of the notice
- Default. The text is "Made with AI · MadSlope". Today the app does not let you change it.
- Your own text. If a law or a platform requires different wording where your ad runs (for example "This ad features a synthetic performer (AI-generated)" when an AI person or an AI voice is in the ad), use the clean file and add a disclosure that meets the requirement yourself (section 7).
- Your responsibility. You are responsible for the wording and the position that you choose, and for meeting the disclosure laws of each place where the ad runs (for example the "synthetic performer" disclosure in New York General Business Law §396-b). Our default wording is not a guarantee that your ad complies with a law or a platform policy. See section 8 of the Terms of Service.
6. Previews are not ads
- The watermarked previews (the preview in the app, the public preview page and preview share links) are for internal review only.
- Previews are not ads and have no AI notice. They are not designed or treated as compliant with any law or platform rule on AI-generated content or synthetic performers.
- Do not use a preview as an ad, and do not publish it as advertising.
- Only the "for paid ads" file carries the AI notice. See section 9A of the Terms of Service.
7. The clean file
When you buy an ad, you also get a clean file with no notice. It is for uses such as your website, email or organic posts. If you use the clean file where a law or a platform requires an AI disclosure, you must add the disclosure yourself.
8. What you must do
- Use the "for paid ads" file for paid ads, unless you add a disclosure that meets the rules yourself.
- Keep the notice visible. Do not remove, crop, cover, blur or edit it.
- If you move the notice, check that no platform button, caption or crop hides it. You are responsible for the position and the wording you choose.
- Turn off platform features that crop the video or add overlays (for example Meta Advantage+ creative enhancements, Google Ads automatic enhancements) where they can hide the notice.
- Do not present a person in the ad as a real customer, user or endorser. Do not use AI people for testimonials.
- Do not use a preview as an ad (section 6).
- Follow the AI rules of each platform and each place where your ad runs, for example New York General Business Law §396-b (synthetic performers in ads), California Business and Professions Code §17610 (from 1 January 2027), Article 50 of the EU AI Act, and the TikTok, Meta and Google Ads policies.
See sections 8, 9 and 9A of the Terms of Service.
9. Our records
For each placed ad, MadSlope keeps a record of whether the notice was burned in, its position, whether the platform AI flag was sent, and the date. We keep these records for as long as we have a business reason to keep them (section 6 of the Privacy Notice).
10. Planned
Planned: you will be able to write your own notice text in the app, put the notice anywhere in the frame with a warning where a platform can hide it, and get a machine-readable AI tag (IPTC and C2PA) in the paid files.
11. Contact
Questions or a report of an ad without a notice: the contact form at www.madslope.com/contact (topic "Legal notice").
